More than $3.1 billion of Computer Sciences Corp.’s $3.9 billion in first quarter revenue came from government contracts.

Nearly all of the contracts, about $2.9 billion, are from the Department of Defense, the El Segundo-based information services provider said in a statement. The first quarter revenue figure is about even with the same period a year earlier.

The $3 billion in agreements are for providing everything from technology for training, to security software and systems to providing services to manage communications for the military, the Environmental Protection Agency and NASA.

Computer Sciences said it gets about 33 percent of its annual revenue from government contracts.

Shares in CSC were flat at $59.30 in afternoon trading Friday on the New York Stock Exchange.
