Southern California Edison has been recognized by two national Hispanic-focused magazines as one of the best employment opportunities in the United States for Hispanics.

Hispanic Business magazine ranked Edison third on its list of the top 50 companies in America for Hispanics, while Latina Style magazine ranked the Rosemead-based utility company in the top 10 for Latina workers.

Edison noted that the company, one of the nation’s largest electric utilities, has more than 47 percent of its work force made up of minorities. In addition, 31 percent of senior officials, managers and high-level professionals are minorities, as are 54 percent of the company’s new hires.

Edison serves more than 13 million California residents across a 50,000-mile radius in the Southern and Central California region.
