reported third-quarter net income of $67.9 million (23 cents per share), compared with $97.3 million (35 cents) for the same period a year earlier. Revenue for the Santa Monica-based video game publisher rose 20 percent to $816.2 million from $680.1 million in the year-prior period.


The company expects a fourth-quarter net loss of 7 cents to 9 cents per share on revenue of $125 million to $135 million and full-year earnings of 9 cents to 11 cents per share on revenue of $1.405 billion to $1.415 billion.


& #8226; MannKind Corp. reported a fourth-quarter net loss of $33.3 million (66 cents per share), compared with a loss of $21.2 million (65 cents) for the same period a year earlier. The Valencia-based medical technology firm, which has no revenues, experienced higher expenses related to the development of its Technosphere inhaled insulin, which is currently in Phase 3 clinical trials in the U.S. and Europe.


& #8226; Ixia reported fourth-quarter net income of $5.5 million (8 cents per share), compared with $7.6 million (11 cents) for the same period a year earlier. Revenue for the Calabasas-based IP network testing provider rose 6.5 percent to $37.5 million from $28.3 million in the year-prior period.


Excluding charges related to acquired intangible assets, adjusted net income for the fourth quarter was $6.3 million (9 cents per share), compared to $7.4 million (11 cents) for the same period a year earlier.


& #8226; J2 Global Communications Inc. reported fourth-quarter net income of $13.1 million (51 cents per share), compared with $9.6 million (41 cents) for the same period a year earlier. Revenue for the L.A.-based messaging and communications services company rose 31 percent to $39.1 million from $29.8 million in the year-prior period.


The company expects first-quarter earnings of 53 cents to 55 cents per share on revenue of $41.3 million to $42.1 million and full-year earnings of $2.34 to $2.46 per share on revenue of $181 million to $191 million.


& #8226; Diodes Inc. reported fourth-quarter net income of $10 million (36 cents per share), compared with $7.3 million (31 cents) for the same period a year earlier. Revenue for the Westlake Village-based discrete semiconductor manufacturer rose 37 percent to $61.4 million from $47.9 million in the year-prior period.


The company expects first-quarter revenue to increase 16 percent to 20 percent.
