Long Lines, But LAX Flights On Time

Thousands of travelers are struggling to find their way in a new world of security at Los Angeles International Airport — one in which their toothpaste and bottled water had become potential threats overnight, the Long Beach Press-Telegram reports.


Police stopped and searched cars, bomb-sniffing dogs jogged past waiting passengers and security agents hand-searched all carry-on bags as LAX went to its highest alert in more than two years Thursday. Two hundred troops from the California National Guard are now in place at LAX for duty inside the terminals.
