Sony Ordered to Pay in PlayStation Case

Sony Corp. said on Monday it was ordered by a U.S. court to halt sales of its blockbuster PlayStation consoles in the U.S. and pay $90.7 million in damages to California tech company Immersion Corp.


Sony Computer Entertainment, Sony’s gaming unit, plans to appeal the decision by the federal district court in Oakland. In the decision issued Thursday, Sony Computer Entertainment was ordered to pay damages to Immersion Corp., a San Jose-based company which develops and licenses digital technology.
