Michael P. Amerio and Ariel E. Drachenberg were promoted to partners at Lucas, Horsfall, Murphy & Pindroh, an accounting and consulting firm in Pasadena. Amerio concentrates on construction and manufacturing clients and was previously senior accounting manager. Drachenberg focuses on tax and consulting services and was most recently senior tax manager.
Donna Elek was named vice president of business development at M2, a Los Angeles firm that brokers independent consultants. She will be responsible for the greater Los Angeles area. Elek was most recently regional manager of Act 1 Personnel Services.
Bruce Ehrlich, Thomas Jirovsky, Henry Madrid and Susan Perry were named partners at Kosmont Partners, a Los Angeles real estate consulting firm. They will lead the firm in providing private-sector and government agencies with advice on real estate economics, land-use entitlements and public-private partnerships. All partners were previously senior members of the firm.
Jim Lee was appointed head of business development at Viant, an Internet consulting company in Los Angeles. He will be responsible for managing business development in the Southern California region. Lee was most recently senior director of Oracle's consulting services division in Los Angeles.

Ronald Rogers was named chief executive at Rogers & Associates, a Los Angeles-based public relations firm. He will oversee client strategy and determine overall agency direction. Rogers, founder of the firm, was previously president. Lynne Doll was named agency president and will direct day-to-day agency operations, new business development and senior-level account managers. Doll was previously executive vice president and partner.
Banking & Finance
Carl A. Ballton was promoted to president and chief operating officer of the Union Bank of California Foundation in Los Angeles. He will be responsible for implementing charitable contribution policies and initiatives. Ballton was most recently vice president and manager of the urban enterprise banking unit.
Gary Bryant was appointed vice president and branch manager at Fidelity Investments' Century City Investor Center. He will manage 12 staffers who provide customers with investment strategies. Bryant was previously branch manager at the Glendale Investor Center.
Peter Meyers was appointed vice president of income property lending at First Federal Bank of California in Santa Monica. He will be responsible for new loan production for retail office, industrial and multifamily properties. Meyers was most recently with World Savings. Also, Michael Wagner was appointed assistant vice president and branch manager for the Encino retail office. He will be responsible for sales and operations. Wagner was previously a financial advisor for PaineWebber.
Pam Van Dueck was promoted to vice president of the cash management department at American Business Bank in Los Angeles. She will be responsible for cash management products and Internet banking. Van Dueck was previously vice president of operations.
Nancy Neal Davis was appointed vice president of the Independent Colleges of Southern California. She will be responsible for cultivating new donors in Los Angeles, the San Gabriel Valley and Inland Empire, concentrating on high-tech and communications industries. Davis was previously director of strategic development for the Pacific Asia Museum in Pasadena.
Andy Kure and Neal Mullarky were named executive directors in the racing division of Magna Entertainment Corp., the parent company of Santa Anita Park in Arcadia. Kure will oversee simulcast and off-track betting development. Mullarky will be responsible for racing administration and support services. Their previous positions were director of simulcast development and director of operations for Santa Anita Park, respectively.
Dene Stratton was named vice president of planning and control at ABC in Los Angeles. He will manage planning and analysis and will oversee the relocation of the ABC controller's office from New York to Los Angeles. Stratton was previously senior vice president and general manager of DIC Entertainment, a Disney subsidiary in Burbank.
Stuart H. Sollod was named national sales manager for Medtrak Electronics in Manhattan Beach. He will be responsible for sales of wireless medical tracking devices. Sollod was previously regional sales manager for Panasonic in Los Angeles.
Diane Revnes Moore was appointed senior vice president of passenger services at Crystal Cruises in Los Angeles. She will be responsible for reservations, air/sea coordination and documentation. Moore was most recently vice president of passenger programs at Holland America Line-Westours Inc.
Deborah Klein was named partner at Barnes Morris Klein & Yorn in Santa Monica. She specializes in entertainment law, representing celebrity clients like Jim Carrey, Samuel L. Jackson, and Sarah Michelle Gellar. Klein was previously a partner with Bloom Hergott Cook Diemer and Klein.
David Weil was named partner in charge of the Century City office of O'Melveny & Myers.; He will oversee all administrative operations for the firm's entertainment and media practice headquarters. Weil was previously a partner with the company.
Kevin M. Farr was promoted to chief financial officer at Mattel Inc. in El Segundo. He will be responsible for worldwide financial functions. Farr was previously senior vice president and corporate controller.
Gene Cameron and Seth Geiger were appointed vice presidents of marketing and professional services respectively for BizRate.com, an independent e-commerce rating guide based in Los Angeles. Cameron will oversee branding, marketing, public relations and advertising. He was most recently group account director at Mendelsohn Zien Advertising in Los Angeles. Geiger will supervise a team of e-commerce consultants, providing strategic counsel to merchants and clients. He was previously vice president of research and consulting for the entertainment division of Frank N. Magid Associates.
Patrick Lopker was appointed senior vice president and chief financial officer at BizBuyer.com, a Santa Monica-based business to business marketplace site. He will be responsible for all financial operations and will oversee the legal, human resources and administrative divisions. Lopker was most recently executive vice president and chief financial officer of Disney/ABC Cable Networks in Burbank.
Jill Schwartz-McKiernan was appointed vice president of content development at Steeplechase Media, a Santa Monica company that creates interactive programming. She will be responsible for negotiating new business relationships and partnerships. Schwartz-McKiernan was most recently vice president of development and production for the light entertainment division of Pearson Television.
Carol A. Smith was named vice president of content at eStyle Inc., an online retailer based in Los Angeles. She will be responsible for overall editorial direction. Smith was formerly founding publisher, president and chief executive officer of the Parenting Group.
Jon Torgeson was appointed vice president of major national accounts at PropertyFirst.com in Alhambra. He will be responsible for establishing relationships with multi-market brokerage companies, owners, investors and tenants. Torgeson was previously senior vice president of investment properties with CB Richard Ellis.
Liz B. Anderson was promoted to executive vice president of Fred Sands Affiliates Inc. in Los Angeles. She will be responsible for advising and consulting with regional offices in California, Nevada and Hawaii. Anderson was previously senior vice president and director of affiliate services.
Scott D. Mayer was promoted to chief operating officer of Wilton Partners, a Los Angeles real estate development company. He will be responsible for day-to-day corporate operations and will supervise the development and acquisition of new properties. Mayer will continue to serve as general counsel for the firm.
