TicketsNow, the event online ticket reselling service for Ticketmaster, on Wednesday said Ron Bension would become the company’s chief executive officer.
In the newly created position, Bension will work with the executive teams at TicketsNow and West Hollywood-based Ticketmaster to develop and produce offerings for consumers and foster strategic business growth.
Bension has more than 30 years of experience in e-commerce, recreation and entertainment companies. He most recently was CEO at Prolink Solutions in Phoenix, Ariz., and earlier was CEO of online ticketing start-up Tickets.com.
Bension’s “wide breadth of operating successes and strong industry relationships will play an instrumental role in driving key growth opportunities and partnerships for TicketsNow, and we’re thrilled to have him on the team.” said Ticketmaster CEO Irving Azoff in a press release.
Ticketmaster shares were down 47 cents, or 3.4 percent, to $13.23 in midday trading on the Nasdaq.
