Row 44, a provider of in-flight WiFi, on Monday said that it had closed a $45 million financing round.

Row 44 enables airlines to provide passengers with high-speed Internet and access to entertainment via live television and streaming video on demand. The Westlake Village company was founded in 2004 has raised more than $100 million to date.

The company’s service currently is available on nearly 300 planes, the company said, with its primary partners Southwest Airlines and Norwegian Air Shuttle. Row 44 plans to use a portion of the new investment to expand its global infrastructure to support recently announced partnerships with Icelandair and Russia’s Transaero.

The technology company said the round was led by Advanced Inflight Alliance AG, a Munich, Germany in-flight content provider, and included participation by earlier investor PAR Capital Management of Boston.

“This financing continues to strengthen Row 44’s financial position, and provides us with resources to broaden our offering, expand our infrastructure and invest in the types of programs our customers will find valuable,” said Chief Executive John LaValle in a statement.
