Allan Mayer, a partner in the public relations powerhouse 42 West, has joined in a lawsuit against his old associate Michael Sitrick, the Hollywood crisis king.
Mayer on Friday aligned with an earlier plaintiff, Richard Wool, in filing an amended complaint in the United States District Court for the Central District of California. The complaint says Sitrick and others violated federal law by manipulating an employee stock ownership plan before Sitrick’s 2009 sale of his namesake public relations company to Resources Connection.
Mayer worked for Sitrick & Company from 1997 until 2006 and joined Mr. Sitrick in writing the book “Spin: How to Turn the Power of the Press to Your Advantage.”
