Audiolife, a Van Nuys startup that provides product fulfillment for the music industry, said Tuesday that it has been acquired by Alliance Entertainment LLC, a Florida company.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Founded in 2009, Audiolife provides fulfillment of CDs, t-shirts, and other merchandise for such artists that include Paul McCartney, Beastie Boys and Leann Rimes.
Alliance Entertainment, which is based in Sunrise near Fort Lauderdale, is a large U.S. distributor of audio and video home entertainment and software. The acquisition expands Alliance’s fulfillment capability.
Audiolife’s founders and management team, which include Chief Executive Brandon Hance, will remain in Los Angeles, but the fulfillment operations will move to Shepherdsville, Ky.
“Our affiliation with Alliance Entertainment will allow Audiolife to significantly increase its resources, logistical capacity and distribution reach – and ultimately re-define direct-to-fan fulfillment and retail distribution for the industry-at-large,” said Hance in a statement.
Audiolife’s angel investors included members of the Tech Coast Angels and the Coachella Valley Angel Network.
