Under ongoing pressure from declining ticket sales, concert giant Live Nation Entertainment Inc. on Wednesday disclosed the departure of global music chief executive Jason Garner, who will be succeeded by a trio of executives with regional responsibilities and a mandate to reduce costs.
Veteran concert promoters Mark Campana and Bob Roux will divide the North American market. Rick Franks will oversee strategy for concert tours.
The new structure appears to mark a shift in strategy at Live Nation. Instead of paying top dollar to secure the right to promote most or all the shows on lengthy concert tours, the new emphasis is likely to be on striking deals on a show-by-show basis.
