Lions Gate Entertainment Corp.’s Codeblack Films has struck a key output deal to advance its mission to provide the global black community with quality African-American entertainment content.
Codeblack announced a deal with Eagle Films to distribute its content in North Africa and the Middle East. Formed in 2012 as a division of Santa Monica’s Lions Gate, Codeblack’s releases have featured stars like Kevin Hart and Forest Whitaker. Its latest movie is an erotic thriller, “Addicted.”
“Codeblack is extending its footprint beyond the domestic marketplace. We look forward to pursuing additional alliances with distributors in markets around the world,” said Jeff Clanagan, the company’s president.
