Gary Scott is leaving as program director of KCRW 89.9 FM after six years as editorial head of the Santa Monica-based public radio station.
The personnel change was disclosed to KCRW staff members Sept. 24, and KCRW President Jennifer Ferro confirmed the move in an email.
“After a long series of discussions about creative direction, KCRW Program Director Gary Scott and I have agreed to part ways,” KCRW President Jennifer Ferro said in a statement provided to the Business Journal.
“I have enormous respect for Gary,” Ferro stated. “He’s done incredible work while here – he’s smart and has navigated the multiple nodes of our programming over these past six years. I truly wish him the best in his next step and thank him for his efforts for KCRW.”
Quinn O’Toole, managing producer of KCRW’s daily show Press Play with Madeleine Brand, will become interim director of programming for the station, Ferro stated.
A message left with Scott Sept. 25 was not returned.
