Gold Tree Studios has opened a post-production facility on Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood.
The facility offers flexible creative space for editing, color, and audio and sound design, according to a release from Gold Tree.
Gold Tree Studios is a subsidiary of Gold Tree Films, which was co-founded by Bill Immerman in 2018. He has produced or co-produced more than 40 films, including Academy Award winner “Ray.” Immerman has also held senior executive positions at several motion picture companies, including 20th Century Fox, Crusader Entertainment and Yari Film Group.
Tim Chonacas, the co-founder and chief executive of Gold Tree Studios, is responsible for the management of the new facility.
“We saw a gap in the market,” Chonacas said in a statement. “There are rental facilities that do video editing, but they don’t do sound, or they don’t do ADR, or finishing. We wanted to create a single destination for all production needs, regardless of the type of project – from capture to delivery.”
Chonacas and Immerman both raised funds to start the studio from private investors as well as putting in sweat equity. The pair have raised about $2 million to date.
The facility has executive edit suites, personal edit suites, an 11-seat screening room and ADR (automated dialogue replacement) booths.
The space is tailored to independent filmmaking and contract work for streaming platforms such as Netflix, Apple, Disney Plus, Hulu and others.
All workstations in the building are networked to a 392-terabyte Evo shared-storage system from Studio Network Solutions (SNS), with Sharebrowser software to facilitate access to the clients’ projects, files and media. as well as promote collaboration between suites. Gold Tree Studios’ storage system also provides the ability for remote editing, using SNS Nomad, in case someone needs to work from home or from set productions anywhere in the world, according to the release.
