Hit factory Walt Disney Studios has crossed the $4 billion mark in global box office earnings this year, setting a new studio record.

Blockbusters like “Inside Out,” “Avengers: Age of Ultron,“ “Ant-Man” and “Cinderella” contributed to takings reaching $1.4 billion in the U.S. and $2.6 billion internationally as of Oct. 7.

It’s the third year in a row the Burbank entertainment giant has reached the threshold but it has been achieved in the quickest ever time, surpassing 2014’s previous best by six weeks.

What’s more, the most anticipated movie of the year, Disney’s surefire hit “Star Wars” film “The Force Awakens,” is to be released on Dec. 18.

At the same time as announcing the new record, Disney revealed release dates for future tent pole releases “Cars 3” (June 2017), “Toy Story 4” (moved back a year to June 2018) and superhero film “Captain Marvel” (March 2019).

Disney shares ended the trading day up 1 percent at $104.61.
