Warner Bros. Prepares for Succession

Long-time Warner Bros. President Alan Horn will leave his post in April, succeeded by a group of three executives, a plan announced Wednesday by Jeff Bewkes, chief executive of the film studio’s parent, Time Warner Inc.

Under the new plan, Mr. Horn, 67 years old, will serve as a consultant to the entertainment company, while Warner Bros. CEO Barry Meyer, 66, will continue in his role for an additional two years, retiring in December 2013.

The reshuffling is designed to help the entertainment company weather tough conditions ahead, as DVD sales continue to decline and digital technology upends traditional business models and distribution platforms.
