Formosa Group, a West Hollywood post-production company specializing in sound work, announced Wednesday it will expand to the Santa Monica facility previously occupied by Pacific Ocean Post.

Pacific Ocean Post, which also specialized in post-production sound, closed in early July after racking up credits in such films and video games as “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” and “Grand Theft Auto V.”

Formosa Group announced the plans on Wednesday. The facility has 10 mixing stages, eight voice-over booths and an ADR stage.

“With this addition, we will now have an expanded Westside presence,” Robert C. Rosenthal, Formosa Group chief operating officer, said in a press release. “It also enables the core clientele to continue their great work here with many of the accomplished creative artists and support staff formerly associated with POP.”

Formosa Group business development director Morris Naish said the company is talking to former Pacific Ocean Post employees, but has not yet decided how many will be hired.

“Some of the talent will be retained or brought in,” he said.

Formosa Group currently operates facilities in West Hollywood, West Los Angeles and Burbank.
