The Los Angeles Convention Center has a new management team focused on increasingly profitability at the Downtown Los Angeles venue, operator AEG Facilities announced Tuesday.
Brad Gessner was named senior vice president and general manager. Joining Gessner are Keith Hilsgen, vice president of finance; Ellen Schwartz, vice president of sales and marketing; Greg Rosicky, vice president of operations; Carisa Malanum, vice president of event Services; Ruben Lechuga, director of security and Angela Baker, director of human resources.
AEG Facilities won the contract to manage the city-owned event venue in late October. Parent company Anschutz Entertainment Group AEG owns and operates venues including Staples Center and Nokia Theater L.A. Live in Downtown L.A. and StubHub Center in Carson.
AEG’s plans for the Convention Center include new food and beverage services to be introduced next year and updated audiovisual capabilities. The goal is to increase bookings of conventions, trade shows and other meetings at the venue.
“Combining Brad’s leadership and the experienced team now in place with the ongoing evolution and growth of downtown Los Angeles will truly have a positive effect in further establishing the Los Angeles Convention Center as the region’s premier convention destinations,” Bob Newman, AEG Facilities president, said in a statement.
