September was the busiest month the Port of Los Angeles has seen since 2006.
More than 775,000 containers moved through the port last month, a 9 percent increase over the same month last year. Imports were up 11 percent while exports increased by less than 1 percent.
Through the first nine months of the year, cargo traffic at the Port of L.A. in Los Angeles has risen 7.8 percent. More than 6.3 million containers have moved in and out of the port so far this year.
The Port of Long Beach plans to release its cargo report next week.
