Pelican Products, makers of protective cases for a range of products, is sponsoring a pilot program that will bring six UK-based entrepreneurs to the company’s headquarters in Torrance for training this fall.
There is one catch however, you need to have an affinity for Wales. The week-long program is in conjunction with GobalWelsh, an organization that aims to connect Welsh business people across the globe.
“The goal is to promote business opportunities for Pelican and UK businesses,” said Lyndon Faulkner, chief executive of Pelican and a Welshman himself. “Besides being based in the UK, there is no criteria to apply. You don’t have to be Welsh for this pilot.”
Faulkner told the Business Journal last year that privately-held Pelican recorded $400 million in sales in 2016. The company has acquired a half dozen or so companies in the last decade.
Applications are now open for the program, finalist will be selected in June with the program to begin in September, Faulkner said.
