Pasadena’s Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. is getting in on the Port of Long Beach’s $1.3 billion Middle Harbor project.
The engineering firm said Tuesday it won a contract with the port to provide management and other administrative services for Phase 2 of the project. Under the contract, which has a value of up to $23.5 million, Jacobs will provide environmental oversight, compliance monitoring, project labor agreement compliance and outreach, quality assurance, scheduling and other services for the project.
The estimated value of Phase 2 construction projects is $300 million. Included in this phase are the construction of a truck gate and an administration building and the expansion of an on-dock rail yard.
Work Phase 2 is scheduled to be completed in 2019. Phase 1, which included the redevelopment of 154 acres of port terminal land, started in January 2011 and is set to finish this month.
