Physicians Formula Holdings Inc. on Monday said that interim Chief Financial Officer Jeff Berry had been named permanently to the position.
Berry, a former company board director, has served as interim CFO of the Azusa make-up manufacturer since late May 2009, when Joseph Jaeger left the company.
Berry, who has held executive or consulting posts with companies ranging from Del Monte Foods to McKinsey and Co., had been a Physicians Formula director since October 2007. To comply with Nasdaq rules, he resigned from the board after accepting the interim post.
In a statement, Chief Executive Ingrid Jackel praised Berry’s work over the past several months.
“His contribution as interim CFO, and most notably his leadership in our recent successful refinancing which was designed to provide us with more flexibility to invest in our brand, has been invaluable,” Jackel said in a statement.
Shares closed down 7 cents, or 3 percent, to $2.09 on the Nasdaq.
