California Screw Products Corp., a Paramount-based manufacturer of commercial and military aerospace products, has been acquired by Avantus Aerospace Inc.

Terms of the deal, which was announced Oct. 6, were not disclosed.

CalScrew was founded in 1984 and has served more than 45 aircraft platforms. The company creates high-strength fasteners for commercial and military aerospace applications.

“The CalScrew team is known for taking care of their customers and we are excited about dovetailing their unique fasteners into our expanding product lineup,” Avantus Chief Executive Brian Williams said in a statement.

Santa Clarita-based Avantus changed its name from Shimtech Industries in June. The company mainly creates C-class and composite parts for the aerospace and defense industries.

Avantus has been on an acquisition binge over the past year. Last December the company purchased Fastener Technology Corp., based in North Hollywood, and in September it added Rancho Dominguez-based Fastener Innovation Technology Corp.

Avantus said CalScrew was a “natural fit” with the other businesses in the company’s portfolio.

“Our combined strength allows Avantus to continue offering a diverse range of high-quality products with exceptional customer service,” Williams said in the company’s statement.

CalScrew’s management team will operate under the guidance of Avantus Fastener Division President Dennis Suedkamp and former CalScrew president Larry Valeriano, who currently serves as director of business development at Avantus.
