TransDigm Group Inc. of Cleveland on Monday said that it completed an acquisition of a Simi Valley aerospace parts unit.
TransDigm, an aircraft components maker, said it bought the actuation business of Telair International Inc., a division of Teleflex Inc. in Limerick, Penn. It paid Teleflex about $94 million in cash.
An actuator is a mechanical device that converts energy from electrical or other source into some kind of motion. The new TransDigm unit makes the devices for aircraft that include the Boeing 700-series civilian jetliners, and the F-16 and C-130 military jets. TransDigm, which did not say what its new unit will be named, said the business had about $25 million in 2010 revenue.
