International Lease Finance Corp. has named Elias Habayeb as chief financial officer, effective immediately.
The Los Angeles-based commercial jet aircraft leasing business of American International Group Inc. said late Wednesday that Habayeb succeeds Frederick Cromer, who became ILFC’s president when Alan Lund retired earlier this year. He most recently was AIG’s senior vice president of investments and financial services.
From 2005 to 2009, Habayeb was CFO of AIG’s financial-services division, including ILFC, which has portfolio of about 930 jets. He also oversaw the company’s capital markets, consumer finance and premium finance operations.
“Elias brings to ILFC an impressive financial services background which will allow us to build on our recent success,” Cromer said in a statement. “ILFC is well positioned to build on our market leadership position and we look forward to the addition of Elias and his expertise in support of our future financial and strategic efforts.”
