Chief Executive
Kingston Technology Corp.
John Tu’s company might not be the flashiest, but it has made him a billionaire. Kingston Technology Corp., which was founded in 1987 and is based in Fountain Valley, produces computer memory products, including solid state drives and flash drives. In 2024, Kingston generated over $14 billion in revenue, according to Bloomberg. Business Insider reported earlier this year that the rise of AI and its demand for more memory have driven a surge in Tu’s wealth this year. As of this writing, Bloomberg puts Tu’s net worth at just over $55 billion, making him the 33rd wealthiest person in the world, while Forbes lists him at $20 billion, good for 131st in the world.
