After being named to Sports Business Journal’s Forty Under 40 twice, Martin Jarmond was hired by UCLA in 2020. Under Jarmond’s leadership, UCLA has continued to rack up national championships, including titles in men’s and women’s water polo, women’s soccer, men’s volleyball, and, most recently, women’s basketball. The 2026 NCAA women’s basketball championship was the Bruins’ first-ever national title in that sport and the school’s 126th NCAA national title overall, second only to Stanford. Jarmond helped secure a partnership with Nike Inc. and the Jordan brand. This is UCLA’s first partnership with the famous athletic-wear brand, and the Jordan brand deal made UCLA only the fifth school in the country to feature the prestigious athletic brand on its jerseys.
