Chief Executive
Vast
Max Haot was tapped Vast chief executive in August 2023, succeeding founder Jed McCaleb, months after his appointment as president of Vast in February that year. The Long Beach-based company is known for developing artificial gravity space stations. It raised $500 million in March this year with both private and public investors and added Balerion Space Ventures adviser A.C. Charania, a former NASA chief technologist to the board of directors. Before joining Vast, Haot founded and led Hawthorne-based Launcher, a developer of space payload platforms and liquid rocket engines before Vast acquired it in February 2023. He also co-founded live events broadcasting platform Livestream, which was later acquired by Vimeo.
