Matt Young is the chief executive of CriticalPoint Partners, an El Segundo-based investment bank and M&A firm he founded in 2012. The firm executes, sources, and invests in deals for middle-market businesses across a range of industries. One of its most notable transactions over the past year was the acquisition of accessories brand Pura Vida Bracelets from Vera Bradley Inc., announced last June. Before joining CriticalPoint, Young spent more than a decade at Beverly Hills-based investment firm Platinum Equity. He began his finance career in Bear Stearns & Co.’s technology investment banking group, after a five-year stint in the United States Air Force. Young holds a bachelor’s degree in management from the USAF Academy and an M.B.A. from the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business.
