Lowell Milken has led groundbreaking philanthropy in education, arts, and innovation for 50 years. He founded the Milken Educator Awards in 1987 – called “the Oscars of Teaching” – and created the TAP System for Teacher and Student Advancement, now used in over 11,000 schools reaching 3 million K-12 students. At UCLA School of Law, he established both the Lowell Milken Institute for Business Law and Policy and the Lowell Milken Center for Philanthropy and Nonprofits, securing his legacy as one of the most influential figures in education philanthropy.
