Crunchyroll
Purini became the president of Crunchyroll in May 2022 after spending years as the company’s chief operating officer. Under his lead, the streaming service dedicated to anime surpassed 17 million global subscribers, launched anime dubs in five new languages – including Castilian Spanish, Telugu and Hindi – and introduced a music platform that pulled from anime songs. He closed an acquisition deal with Right Stuf, an anime e-commerce retailer, for an undisclosed amount months after assuming the role of president. Purini had a hand in hosting the Crunchyroll Anime Awards ceremony in Tokyo. Prior to Crunchyroll, he was the chief technology officer and chief operating officer at Funimation, which would go on to merge with Crunchyroll in April 2024.
