Co-Founder
Crosscut Ventures
A Los Angeles native, Garrett left his hometown to attend Stanford University and immerse himself in a nascent, but promising tech bubble that was forming in Silicon Valley. When he moved back to L.A. 10 years later, he quickly co-founded Crosscut Ventures, one of the first venture firms in the area that could boost the then-small tech sector in the Southern California region. After spending years as a generalist firm, investing in everything from advertising platforms to media companies to consumer goods, the company evolved its investment strategy in 2024. Now, Crosscut Ventures focuses on energy, materials, defense and science – an increasingly promising strategy amid geopolitical instability.
