Thorrington is the co-president and general manager of the Los Angeles Football Club which joined Major League Soccer in 2019 for a fee of $110 million. Today, it is worth roughly $1.25 billion. The team plays at BMO Stadium in Exposition Park under a $100 million partnership with BMO. Thorrington, who was born in South Africa but raised in Palos Verdes, played soccer for 17 years in England, Germany and with MLS. After retiring from his career as a soccer player, he was a special assistant to the MLS Players’ Union’s Bob Foose and received an MBA. In 2015, he was named LAFC’s first executive vice president of Soccer Operations and
General Manager.
