Iger says his priority is to arrange for a replacement chief executive for The Walt Disney Co. before his contract expires at the end of 2026 after the Disney veteran’s prior choice was forced out by the board in November 2022. Since his return as CEO after previously serving from 2005 to 2020, Iger has led a significant, enterprise-wide transformation to restore creativity to the center of the company and position Disney’s portfolio of brands and businesses for growth. In 2024, the company achieved record success commercially and critically. Iger celebrated 50 years of service with Disney early this year. Outside of Disney, Iger and his wife, journalist and educator Willow Bay, took a controlling stake in the women’s soccer team Angel City FC last year.
