Penske’s dealmaking enlarged a publishing boutique to a sizeable privately owned multimedia conglomerate. Today, the company has a monthly audience of more than 412 million. Since 2004, the company, which has offices in Sawtelle and New York, has worked on digital media and live events. The company’s titles include Variety, Rolling Stone, The Hollywood Reporter, Billboard, Deadline.com, SHE Media IndieWire and awards show juggernaut Dick Clark Productions. It also owns The Golden Globes, Country Music Awards (ACMs) and Billboard Music Awards. Penske previously co-founded and was chair of Firefly Mobile Inc., which created the first mobile phone for children.
