Skechers USA Inc.
Greenberg is the chair and chief executive of Skechers, a company he founded with his son, Michael, in 1992. The Manhattan Beach-based company has some major changes ahead, announcing plans to go private in a $9.4 billion deal with investment firm 3G Capital in May. Greenberg will remain at the helm of the company, which under his leadership became one of the largest athletic lifestyle footwear and apparel brands in the world with billions of dollars in sales a year. It was once known for its “Chrome Dome” street-style shoe but now has a variety of comfortable and fashionable sneakers and clothing. Greenberg also started L.A. Gear Inc. in 1983, which reached $902 million in sales in 1990.
