Czinger founded his eponymous performance vehicles brand in Torrance in 2019 with the goal of changing what automotive manufacturing will look like for years to come. With his team, Czinger uses 3D printing technology to make the 21C supercar. In September of last year, Czinger and his son, Lukas, the chief executive of the carmaker, opened Area 21, the factory in Torrance to build the Czinger electric cars. Czinger’s parent company, Divergent, also in Torrance, has over 600 patents in additive manufacturing and 3D printing. Divergent announced in August 2023 its collaboration with Aston Martin to build the DBR22’s subframe, and has an array of automotive, aerospace and defense projects in production.
