McNicholas, who like brother Matthew is a partner at his father’s law firm, was among the first attorneys to file suit against Edison International – the owner of Southern California Edison – as a result of the Eaton Fire disaster in Altadena. He’s got a track record to back him up: McNicholas was co-lead counsel for victims of the Dixie and Creek fires who sued Pacific Gas & Electric Co., Edison and the state Department of Water and Power. McNicholas also is one of the lead attorneys that this spring secured a record-shattering $4 billion settlement from Los Angeles County for more than 7,000 plaintiffs who sued the county for sexual abuse at juvenile detention facilities.
