LA500 2025: Peter Slavin

Peter Slavin

Chief Executive
Cedars-Sinai Medical System

Slavin took the helm of Beverly Grove-based Cedars-Sinai Health System – the largest locally-based hospital system in L.A. County – in October, succeeding longtime leader Thomas Priselac. Slavin previously spent 40 years at nationally prestigious Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, serving as chief executive from 2003 to 2021. At Cedars, Slavin oversees the flagship Beverly Grove hospital with more than 900 licensed beds, Marina del Rey Hospital, partnerships with several other local hospitals and a vast array of offices and clinics; the total employee count is over 18,000. Shortly after Slavin’s arrival, Cedars-Sinai moved to formalize the various research and education functions taking place by establishing a health sciences university.
