Providence St. John’s Health Center/Providence Los Angeles Coastal
Ricks has served as chief executive of the 266-bed Providence St. John’s Health Center in Santa Monica since 2019. Last year, as part of a regional leadership restructuring, he was named chief executive of the Providence Los Angeles Coastal Service Area, with oversight over St. John’s Health Center and Providence Little Company of Mary Centers in Torrance and San Pedro. St. John’s is in the second phase of an expansion that will add 680,000 square feet of medical and research facilities. It ranked in the top 10 for the Los Angeles metro area in U.S. News & World Report’s 2024-25 rankings, with high-performing scores in 15 areas. Prior to joining Providence, Ricks served as chief operating officer for Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian.
