PIH Health
West, a veteran health care industry executive, joined PIH Health in 2000 and became president and chief executive in 2004. Under his leadership, the organization has grown to serve more than 3 million residents in southeast Los Angeles County and northern Orange County. PIH Health now comprises three hospitals: Good Samaritan in Downtown Los Angeles and hospitals in Downey and Whittier. It also includes a multi-specialty medical group, more than 30 outpatient medical offices, and seven urgent care centers, among other facilities. West had to grapple with a cyberattack in December that hit all PIH Health facilities, temporarily disrupting communications and other technology services.
