Issai, who has helmed the 515-bed Adventist Health Glendale hospital since 2018, last year added a new hospital to her portfolio: the 144-bed Adventist Health Simi Valley Hospital. The hospital addition came about last summer as part of a management restructuring that expanded Issai’s service territory into Ventura County. As the first woman to lead the flagship Glendale campus – the largest of Adventist Health’s two dozen hospitals – she has guided the facility to continuous 5-star ratings from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and 17 consecutive A ratings from the Leapfrog Group. Issai previously served as chief operating officer at Keck Medical Center of USC, UC Irvine Health and Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center.
