Hyman has been with ZGF Architects for 36 years and has been managing partner 11 years. Hyman is known for managing some of the company’s most challenging and technologically complex projects, integrating sustainable systems, materials and technology into his designs. He designed the J. Craig Venter Institute in La Jolla. Locally, ZGF is working on the Samuel Oschin Air and Space Center at the California Science Center that will house the Endeavour space shuttle; the firm had previously completed the adjacent California Science Center expansion. Other notable completed projects include the Marion and John E. Anderson Pavilion hospital tower at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and the student services building at Cal State Los Angeles.
