Founder
Eric Owen Moss Architects
A Los Angeles native and UCLA graduate, Moss founded his namesake architectural firm in 1973, immediately establishing a reputation as a postmodern designer. The eye-catching designs of Moss and his firm have garnered scores of awards and have helped transform the communities around the buildings. The firm’s major geographic focus has been in and adjacent to Culver City, the company’s headquarters. Since the mid-1980s, Moss’ firm has been an integral part of the massive redevelopment of the old industrial Hayden Tract in that city, turning it into a destination for a wide array of creative companies. Moss has taught at the Southern California Institute of Architecture since he founded his firm and served as the institute’s director from 2002 to 2015.
