Brown is the chief executive of the Southern California Gas Co., a gas distribution utility. In her role, Brown oversees SoCalGas’ 24,000 square mile territory and its 8,000 employees. The utility has 21 million customers in 500 communities. Before becoming the group’s chief executive earlier this year, Brown served as its president, where she worked on initiatives like the Angeles Link dedicated hydrogen pipeline project. She joined the company from its corporate parent, Sempra, which is based in San Diego. Before that, she worked on Capitol Hill, where she held staff roles in the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate. She served as chief energy counsel to the House Committee on Energy and Commerce.
