Salinas has been the chief executive and president of the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce since 2018. She is the first woman and Latina to lead the organization. The group is the largest business association in the county with a budget of more than $9 million and more than 1,400 members. It serves the business interests of more than 235,000 businesses in the region. Salinas is also an appointee to Gov. Gavin Newsom’s Commission on the Future of Work and was named to his Business and Jobs Recovery Task Force. She serves on the board of Mobility 21, a regional transportation effort and was appointed by former Mayor Eric Garcetti to the MEXLA Commission, a foreign policy initiative between Mexico and Los Angeles
