Davis-Holmes is the mayor of Carson, a role she was re-elected to late last year. She is the city’s first female Black mayor and was initially elected mayor in 2020 after serving as a city councilmember for more than a decade. Under her leadership, the city passed its first structurally balanced budget, furthered affordable housing initiative, enhanced public safety measures, made park upgrades and increased economic development in the city, creating more jobs. During her time as a city councilmember, she advocated for more workforce housing projects and led a number of projects. Looking ahead, Davis-Holmes is working on more sustainable growth in the city, making improvements to infrastructure and enhancing education and youth programs.
