La Franchi runs SDS Capital Group, a real estate fund manager focused on impact investing with about $1.7 billion in assets under management. In addition to her role as chief executive, La Franchi is head of the Westwood firm’s investment committee where she leads investment strategy, fundraising and oversight. SDS Capital’s mission is to utilize the private sector to promote economic development and create affordable supportive housing for marginalized families. In March, the firm launched a new affordable housing debt platform with the goal of financing more than $1 billion worth of new housing units by fall 2026. Before SDS, she served as former Mayor Richard Riordan’s assistant deputy mayor for economic development.
