Kramer has been the chief executive of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences since 2022. His contract goes through mid-2028. In his role, he oversees more than 700 employees. The group has nearly 11,000 members and is known for its annual Oscars award ceremony and its museum in L.A. Under his leadership the group launched Academy100, a revenue diversification and outreach campaign that aims to expand the Academy’s scope internationally, safeguard its future and connect audiences. He also launched accessibility and sustainability programs. Kramer first joined the Academy in 2012 before becoming director of the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in October 2019. He oversaw the opening of the museum in 2021.
