LA500 2024: Brian Robbins

Chief Executive, Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon

As president and chief executive of Nickelodeon, Robbins has global oversight of all creative, strategic and business operations for Paramount Global’s kids and young-adult focused brands. Since taking the helm of the studio in 2021, Robbins has expanded and reinvigorated franchises like “Sonic the Hedgehog,” “Transformers,” “Scream,” “PAW Patrol” and “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.” Under Robbins’ tenure, Paramount Pictures has to date earned over $5 billion in worldwide box office gross and boasted 13 number one hits.  Most recently, Robbins oversaw the release “Bob Marley: One Love,” which opened at the top spot at the domestic box office. In April, Robbins was one of three executives appointed to take over for former Paramounrt Chief Executive Bob Bakish. The others were George Cheeks, president and chief executive of CBS, and Chris McCarthy, president and chief executive of` Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios and Paramount Media Networks.

What’s the best advice you ever got?
Put your head down and do the work and good things will happen.

What’s your favorite movie, all time and in any category?
It’s a toss-up between “The Godfather” and “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.”

What’s at the top of your bucket list?
I don’t have one.

What was your first car?
A pea-green Dodge dart. Awful.

Like to have it back?
No way.

What’s the best thing about living in Los Angeles?
The Lakers.
